How to Find Us & Where to Park

LOOK FOR THE GARAGE AT CREEKSIDE AND FOLLOW THE ORANGE SIGNS

We're located at 101 Mill Street, Suite 109, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 behind Coldstone Creamery on the backside of the Creekside Conference & Event Center. Parking is available in the underground parking garage. Below are detailed instructions:

Enter the garage at Mill and Walnut Streets.

Follow the Orange signs to the 101 Mill Street building and snake around to the right to the Orange parking section. Follow signage for Gilded Social.

Once you have parked, use the elevator on the left in the Orange lobby marked “B” to Floor 1(STAR).

Out of the elevator turn right and head through the glass doors to the plaza.

We are directly to your left! Suite 109

IF YOU PARK ON THE STREET

We are down the alley between Nostalgia Brewing and Goldstone Creamery. As soon as you get to the fountain towards the back - hang a U turn to the right, and you'll run right into our door. Suite 109

You can also access us by going through the Sola Salons double doors. Walk all the way down the hall, past the elevators, and go back outside through the double doors to the plaza. Make an immediate U turn to the left, and you'll run right into our door. Suite 109

Get Ready for the Magic of an Expert Seamstress

When you get alterations done with us, perfecting your fit is our number one priority! But a close second is providing an efficient method of alterations that rarely requires more than 1-2 fittings.

We are also never going to let you out the door without a good plan for prepping your dress for the big day - sometimes that means storing and steaming her or packing her up for destination travel. No matter what, you can consider us your expert fancy fashion specialists from now until the big day.

MEET CHEWY

Our sweet little, hypoallergenic, Shihtzu pup, Chewy, is often with us at the shop. He mostly just likes to say hi, get a treat, and then nap for the rest of your appointment! If that would ever be an issue for you or your guests, don’t hesitate for a minute to let us know.

YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

1. Your dress - or whatever garment it is that you’re having altered

2. Any undergarments you plan to wear

3. The exact shoes you intend to wear - or at a minimum, shoes of the exact height

4. A method of payment

5. Your calendar to book subsequent fittings

ABOUT YOUR TRIBE

Due to space constraints during fittings, we are happy to host you, plus ONE guest during first and additional fittings. All guests MUST be over the age of 8. We allow up to five guests for final fittings ONLY.

ARE YOU A GILDED BRIDE?

If you are picking up your dress in conjunction with your first fitting or have stored it here after your Meet the Dress appointment, we will have it ready for you! One less thing to worry about!

PLEASE BE RIGHT ON TIME

If you're a bit early, please grab a coffee and hang tight until your appointment time. Since we do not have a waiting area, we don’t want you to accidentally pop in on an appointment that's just wrapping up.

We've reserved 1 hour JUST for you, so please call or text us at (614) 271-8257 if you are running late. Due to the nature of our schedule, appointments that arrive more than 10 minutes after their designated start time may be asked to reschedule. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we reserve the right to take the fitting scheduled after you in your appointment slot and you will be asked to wait until that customer is finished before we begin your fitting.

LIMIT ACCESSORY STYLING

Please note that alterations appointments are for the purpose of pinning and fitting for alterations needs.

If you need time during your appointment to style your look with accessories, undergarments, or other items that are not directly related to your alterations, please let us know in advance. We realize that this may be the only time you have with your gown, so we are always happy to accommodate! However, we reserve the right to charge a fee of $25 per 15 minutes of time taken in the studio for any purpose OTHER than for pinning and fitting.

BOOKING SUBSEQUENT FITTINGS

We will book your additional (if needed) and final fittings in your appointment, or shortly thereafter, if Tanya is not in your first fitting. Please come with your calendar so we can book them in the moment if possible.

A NOTE ABOUT BODY CHANGES

If you are working towards any body composition changes between now and your first fitting, please consider your first fitting your TARGET date (not your wedding date). Any weight loss or changes in measurements after your first fitting may result in having to start the process over again and greatly impacts our schedule! In that instance, we will always accommodate, but we reserve the right to charge a resizing fee of $250 to account for the change in the schedule, in addition to the regular price of the alterations required for a NEW perfect fit.

A 50% PAYMENT IS REQUIRED AT YOUR FIRST FITTING

A payment of 50% of Mary Ellen’s total fee estimate is due at your First Fitting. Mary Ellen takes cash, Venmo, and credit card. The balance will be due according to the rest of your fitting schedule. All payments made are non-refundable.

If, during a First Fitting, you decide to not follow through with alterations with us, you will be charged $200 (in addition to the $49 booking fee) to account for the lost opportunity of taking a customer on our schedule who would have followed through with our service.

If there is a chance you’d like to take your gown elsewhere after your first appointment with us, we suggest booking a Consult instead of a First Fitting. Consults are $99, which may go towards the alterations if you choose to move forward with us in the Consult appointment. Just note that getting back on the schedule after the consult is subject to availability.

PLAN AHEAD FOR AN EASY WAY TO SAVE

Due to rising merchant credit card fees, we charge an additional 3.75% transaction fee for all payments made using a credit card. However, there is NO additional fee for friend-to-friend Venmo or cash payments! Believe us, we hate this as much as you do.

OTHER GOWN ALTERATIONS

We would love if you'd consider us to alter your other wedding weekend fashion pieces - your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner dress, bridesmaids or moms' dresses. Just text Tanya to schedule!

WE LOVE A GOOD REMAKE

Mary Ellen is an expert dressmaker, which means she's also a total PRO when it comes to remaking an heirloom gown into something modern and amazing. Let us know if this is something you're interested in and we're totally down to brainstorm with ya.

DON'T FORGET THE GUYS

Did you know that we also sell fully custom suits and tuxedos at the studio, too?  We can style them for both guys AND gals, so if that look is on your list - or of course, if your groom, dad, or brother is in the market for a FAB new wedding look - let us know! We can't WAIT to dress them all!

PLAN AHEAD SO YOU’RE TOTALLY EVENT READY

When your alterations are finished, you may need a steam to get your garment event ready! A professional steam is NOT part of Mary Ellen’s regular alterations service, so let Gilded Social can take care of that for you. We offer a number of options based upon your fitting schedule:

Pre-book steaming and we'll have the gown steamed and ready when you pick up, or you may leave your gown and we’ll have it steamed and ready for pick up the week of your wedding.

Traveling to a destination? We can pack your gown for travel in a garment bag, carryon bag, or just prepped for a long ride in the car.

Bridal gowns starting at $90. Fancy dresses starting at $20. Other garments and storage priced upon request.

AN EXPERT SEAMSTRESS IS READY FOR YA

When you book with us, you are reserving time with one of the top expert bridal seamstresses in the area. Over 30 years of experience! Given that time is limited and her livelihood depends on it, you were charged a $49 non-refundable booking fee which may be applied towards your alterations.

OUR NO EXCEPTIONS CANCELLATION POLICY

Our NO EXCEPTIONS cancellation policy requires that you provide us with at least 48 hours notice to cancel a first fitting. If you cancel (and do not reschedule) a first fitting within 48 hours of your appointment time, you will be charged a $150 cancellation fee. If you reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment time, but cancel later at any time, you will be charged a $150 cancellation fee. (Social garment cancellation fees are $50.)

We request at least 24 hours notice to reschedule additional and final fittings. But we get it, life happens! If something does come up, please let us know as soon as possible. Rescheduling may require additional fitting fees.

We accept cancellations via our automated text system or direct communication (email, phone call, or text) from the person who booked the appointment. We do not accept cancellations via social media or third parties; these appointments will not be canceled and are subject to our cancellation fees.
