Thank you for scheduling your appointment at Gilded Social! We're thrilled you've thought of us to outfit your big day.

Here are a few bits & tips before you arrive. If you have any questions or need more information, don't hesitate to call, email, or text us. We're excited, are you excited?

How to Find Us & Where to Park

LOOK FOR THE GARAGE AT CREEKSIDE AND FOLLOW THE ORANGE SIGNS

We're located at 101 Mill Street, Suite 109, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 between Coldstone and Local Cantina on the backside of the Creekside Event Center in the former Stella & Grace Boutique space. Parking is available in the underground parking garage. Below are detailed instructions:

  • Enter the garage at Mill and Walnut Streets.
  • Follow the Orange signs to the 101 Mill Street building and snake around to the right to the Orange parking section. (Temporarily, follow signage for “Stella & Grace.”)
  • Once you have parked, use the elevator on the left in the Orange lobby marked “B” to Floor 1(STAR).
  • Out of the elevator turn right and head through the glass doors to the plaza.
  • We are directly to your left! Suite 109

TEXT US ONCE YOU ARRIVE

Once you have arrived, please text your host - either Mary Ellen at (419) 566-5251 or Tanya at (614) 271-8257. We ask that you remain in the covered elevator lobby or outside on the plaza until we are ready for you, as we do not have a waiting area in the studio. We’ll let you know when it’s all clear to come on in!

PLEASE BE RIGHT ON TIME

We've reserved time and space just for you, so please call or text us if you are running late. If you're a bit early, please hang tight in your car or grab a cup of coffee until your appointment time.

Due to the nature of our schedule, appointments that arrive more than 15 minutes after their designated start time may be asked to reschedule. We want to be sure you get the full time required for a proper fit.

GILDED SOCIAL AND ALTERATIONS & SEWING BY M.E. ARE TWO SEPARATE BUSINESS ENTITIES

We are so excited to offer alterations at Gilded Social, in partnership with Mary Ellen Metzger.

Please note that Mary Ellen operates a totally separate business entity from Gilded Social. Though we work together and share space, her alterations services are solely her responsibility. Further, once your garment is in alterations upon completion of your first fitting, it is the sole responsibility of Alterations & Sewing by M.E.

A 50% PAYMENT IS REQUIRED

A payment of 50% of Mary Ellen’s total fee is due at your first fitting. Mary Ellen takes cash, Venmo, and credit card. The balance will be due according to the rest of your fitting schedule.

Payments not made when due will incur a $10 convenience fee. All fees are non-refundable.

PLAN AHEAD FOR AN EASY WAY TO SAVE

Due to rising merchant credit card fees, we charge an additional 3% transaction fee for all payments made using a credit card. However, there is NO additional fee for friend-to-friend Venmo, debit card with a pin, or cash payments! Believe us, we hate this as much as you do.

GET READY FOR THE REAL DEAL

It is critical that you bring the following to your appointment:

  • your dress! {or whatever garment it is that you’re having altered}

  • any undergarments you plan to wear {bra, slip, panties, shape wear, etc.}

  • the exact shoes you intend to wear {or at a minimum, shoes of the exact height}

 

ABOUT YOUR TRIBE

Due to space constraints during fittings, we are happy to host you, plus ONE guest during first and additional fittings. All guests MUST be over the age of 8. We allow up to five guests for final fittings ONLY.

ARE YOU A GILDED CUSTOMER ALREADY?

If you are a Gilded Social customer and picking up your dress in conjunction with your first fitting, we will have it ready for you! You will be required to complete your pick up and sign for your dress prior to beginning your alterations appointment.

TIME BLOCKED JUST FOR YOU

Bridal gown fittings are 60 minutes. When you pick up, it will take 30 minutes! All other garment fittings are 30 minutes. Your pick up will take 15 minutes.

SETTING EXPECTATIONS ON SCHEDULING

Though you may have booked your first fitting months in advance, we only schedule subsequent fittings once your gown is ready for the next fitting. Mary Ellen works in date order. The most common bridal alterations schedule is: First Fitting - 8 weeks out, Second Fitting - 4 weeks out, Final Fitting - 2 weeks out. Please do not worry if we have not yet contacted you to schedule your next fitting. We PROMISE we will not miss your wedding! If you’re getting a bit antsy, feel free to call or text us at (614) 266-8140 for an update.

If you have special circumstances, or if you visit during our slow season (November to March), we may be able to be a bit flexible. Please ask us if you have questions about this process.

PLAN AHEAD SO YOU’RE TOTALLY EVENT READY

When your alterations are finished, you may need a steam to get your garment event ready! A professional steam is NOT part of Mary Ellen’s regular alterations service, so let Gilded Social can take care of that for you. We offer a number of options based upon your fitting schedule:

  • Pre-book steaming up through your first fitting appointment. We’ll then coordinate with Mary Ellen to have the garment steamed and ready when you pick up.

  • Let us know you need the garment steamed at your final fitting and if we have time, we can do it while you wait OR schedule a time for you to pick up later.

  • Combine the convenience of our storage options with steaming for the ultimate service! At your final fitting, leave your gown and we’ll have it steamed and ready for pick up the week of your event.

  • Lots of other options are available based upon your requests. Let us know how we can help!

YOU’VE INVESTED SO MUCH IN YOUR WEDDING GOWN. MAKE SURE THAT IT LASTS A LIFETIME!

Ideally, wedding gowns should be preserved within one month of wear, and we’re here to help you do that.

This makes a great shower or wedding day gift for the bride!

When you pre-purchase this service, we will send timed reminders and offer pick up and delivery options so that the most important garment you’ll ever wear is properly cleaned and preserved for years to come.

Please confirm your appointment via our automated text system! Unconfirmed appointments are subject to cancellation without notice.

AN EXPERT SEAMSTRESS IS READY FOR YA

When you book with us, you are reserving time with one of the top expert bridal seamstresses in the area. Over 30 years of experience! Given that time is limited and her livelihood depends on it, we require a credit card to book your appointment.

If during your first fitting, you decide to not follow through with alterations with us, you will be charged $99. If there is a chance you’d like to take your gown elsewhere after your first fitting, we suggest switching your appointment to a consult, which must be done so at least 24 hours in advance. Consults are $49, which may go towards the alterations if you choose to move forward with us. Just note that subsequent fittings are subject to availability.

OUR NO EXCEPTIONS CANCELLATION POLICY

Our NO EXCEPTIONS cancellation policy requires that you provide us with at least 24 hours notice to cancel a first fitting. If you cancel (and do not reschedule) a first fitting within 24 hours of your appointment time, you will be charged a $150 cancellation fee. If you reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time, but cancel later at any time, you will be charged a $150 cancellation fee. (Social garment cancellation fees are $50.)

We request at least 24 hours notice to reschedule second and final fittings. But we get it, life happens! If something does come up, please let us know as soon as possible. Rescheduling may require additional fitting fees.

We accept cancellations via our automated text system or direct communication (email, phone call, or text) from the person who booked the appointment. We do not accept cancellations via social media or third parties; these appointments will not be canceled and are subject to our cancellation fees.

Chewy, our little hypoallergenic Shih Tzu dog, may be in the shop on occasion.
