Storage and Travel
Dresses should not be stored long-term in plastic. If traveling to the event or storing for longer than a few weeks prior to the event, we recommend storing the dress in a breathable, cloth garment bag.
Please include a cloth garment bag for long-term storage and/or travel for an additional $10 (+$2, if shipped).

Our standard shipping service requires a signature upon delivery for your protection. Please choose an address where someone can receive your package in person (i.e. work). If you would like to waive the signature option for greater convenience, you may do so below, but it is not recommended. The maximum insured amount as determined by USPS is $50.
Gilded Social requires a credit card on file throughout the ordering and delivery process, even if the customer pays the balance in full at the time of purchase. Credit card information is securely disposed of following the wedding/wear date.

ORDER PERIOD & CONFIRMATION – The “order period” begins at the time of purchase and ends when the customer has received the garment in hand. The customer will receive an order confirmation via Quickbooks within 5 days of purchase. It is the customer’s responsibility to review the order and notify Gilded Social (“GS”) within 24 hours of receipt, if there are any errors or changes that need to be made prior to placing the order with the designer. If we do not receive any notification that changes need to be made, the order will be considered ready to be placed with the designer. Some orders may require immediate placement with the designer, negating the 24-hour change window, though errors must still be reported to GS within 24 hours of receipt. Once the order is placed with the designer, colors, sizes, and styles cannot be changed.
PAYMENT & FEES – A deposit is required at the time of purchase equaling 60% of the total sale, including sales tax and fees. Length, sizing, rush, and fabric fees vary by designer. Some orders may require payment in full. Orders not paid in full at the time of purchase will incur a $5 convenience fee. A manufacturer’s freight surcharge of $10 per garment is added to every order. Shipping & handling is $18 ($20 with a garment bag). GS accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx, and cash for deposits. Ohio sales tax (7.5%, Franklin County) will be added for Ohio residents. GS requires a credit card on file throughout the order period, even if the customer pays the balance in full at the time of purchase. Credit card information is securely disposed of following the wear date. If paying a deposit, the balance due will be charged to the credit card on file once the garment has shipped from the designer to GS and prior to pick up/shipping. GS will not contact the customer prior to charging balance due unless requested on this contract. If the customer requests to be contacted prior to being charged or to pay the balance via emailed invoice, the customer must approve the charge or make a payment within 5 days. Payments made via emailed invoice are accepted via ACH only. If the customer does not respond or make a payment accordingly, the credit card on file will be charged the balance due without notice.
NO RETURNS, REFUNDS, OR EXCHANGES – NO EXCEPTIONS. GS maintains a made-to-order status on all garments and accessories. These items are FINAL SALE and cannot be returned to GS, the designer or manufacturer. Regardless of when the order is to be placed with the designer, the customer cannot be refunded any monies for her purchase. GS is not responsible for canceled weddings or events, or any reason why the customer may no longer require the garment.
PHOTO & MARKETING RELEASE – The customer agrees to grant to GS and its authorized representatives permission to record on photography film and/or digital video, pictures of the customer’s participation. The customer further agrees that any or all of the material photographed may be used, in any form, as part of any future publications, brochure, or other printed, digital, or social media materials used to promote GS, and further that such use shall be without payment of fees, royalties, special credit or other compensation. The customer understands that her authorization is irrevocable. Occasionally, GS will send the customer marketing messages and/or materials. The customer must stay subscribed to our marketing lists throughout the order period in order to receive proper notification of pick up availability or shipment tracking. Please notify GS to be removed from our marketing lists.
COLOR SELECTION – GS is not responsible for dye lots of fabric swatches or in store samples. Swatches and samples may be used as a guideline for color, however the designer may use a different dye lot for swatches and samples than the actual garment ordered, and the color could vary slightly from the swatch or sample seen in store. GS is not responsible for colors the customer views online. Computer monitors can skew colors greatly darker or lighter.
SIZING & MEASUREMENTS – GS recommends a size based upon the customer’s measurements at the time of purchase by referencing the designer's size chart. We typically recommend the size associated with the largest measurement. We highly recommend that if the customer is between sizes, she choose the larger of the two to allow for a custom fit at the time of alterations. The customer is ULTIMATELY responsible for the size ordered. GS is not responsible for weight changes, pregnancy or changes in sizing during the order period. If the customer is not able to be measured in store, GS recommends that she be professionally measured by a reputable tailor. It is the customer’s responsibility to contact GS prior to purchase for a size recommendation. There may be some orders that GS cannot make a recommendation for until after purchase, but GS will contact the customer with a recommendation prior to placing the order with the designer. GS is not responsible for measurements taken outside of our store or the ultimate fit of the garment ordered based upon these measurements.
ALTERATIONS – Garments are cut according to the designer’s size chart not to the customer’s specific measurements, therefore, alterations are almost always necessary. GS does not offer alteration services, but we are happy to make a recommendation. GS is not responsible for costs associated with making the garment fit appropriately or any alterations made after the customer receives the garment.
DYE LOT GUARANTEE & PRODUCTION SCHEDULE – If the customer’s order is part of a larger party, GS will hold placing the order with the designer until the entire party’s orders have been submitted. This is to ensure the dye lot does not vary amongst all garments in the party. That means that when the first customer in a party orders two months before the last customer orders in a party, the first customer’s order will follow the same production schedule as the last customer’s order. Dye lots are only guaranteed for identical styles and/or fabrics, based upon the designer. Even if the dye lot will not be guaranteed, orders are typically held until the entire party has ordered, though GS reserves the right to split the order for any reason. If a customer requires a remedy, GS, the designer, and manufacturer are not responsible for replacement of the entire party’s order, regardless of the dye lot.
ESTIMATED SHIP DATES – GS recommends ordering at least 5 – 6 months in advance of the wear date. Production typically takes 12 – 14 weeks. Once an order is placed, GS will notify the customer of the designer’s ESTIMATED ship date. While many are accurate within a week or two, there are varying circumstances that can delay the garment’s arrival in store including, but not limited to weekends, holidays, natural disasters/inclement weather, fabric availability from overseas, Chinese New Year, FedEx and UPS delivery. After that, allow 5 – 7 business days for in-state shipping and 10 – 15 days for out-of-state shipping. GS does not guarantee ship dates. It is the customer’s responsibility to allow enough time to receive the garment in hand.
PICK UP – GS will notify the customer once the garment is ready for pick up. We do not release orders until the entire party has paid in full. We highly recommend the customer allow time to try the garment on at pick up so that we can address any fit or garment issues before the garment leaves the store. As such, we schedule 15 minutes for pick up appointments to ensure that a stylist and a dressing room are available. The customer will be required to sign a waiver releasing GS of any responsibility regarding any issues with the order once the garment leaves the store. Pick up must occur within 21 days unless prior special arrangements are agreed upon in writing, which may include a $1 per day storage fee ($25 minimum). Orders not picked up within 21 days become the property of GS, and no refund shall be given to the customer. We highly recommend that the customer pick up her own order, however we do allow surrogate pick ups for convenience. If someone other than the customer is picking up an order, the customer MUST fill out a pick up form beforehand authorizing the surrogate to pick up her order and sign her waiver releasing GS of any responsibility once the garment leaves the store.
SHIPPING – GS ships via USPS. We do not ship orders until the entire party has paid in full. Our standard shipping service requires a signature upon delivery for the customer’s protection. The customer may waive a signature requirement for greater convenience, but it is not recommended. Regardless, GS is NOT responsible for any loss of or damage to the package. The maximum insurance as determined by USPS is $50. If the package is returned to GS for any reason, the customer will be charged another $18 ($20 with a garment bag) shipping & handling fee to reship. GS is not responsible for customers who move and do not inform GS of the new address. The customer must open, inspect package contents and notify GS of any garment or order issues within 3 days of receipt.

You will receive an email confirmation from us via Quickbooks once we have reviewed and processed your order.
Please note, we process orders during business hours on Wednesday (11am – 7pm), Thursday (11am – 7pm), and Friday (10am – 5pm). If you order after business hours, you can expect your confirmation the next order processing day. Keep in mind, if you order Saturday through Tuesday, you may not receive a confirmation until Wednesday. We will be closed 6/30 - 7/9. You may experience a delay in processing during that time.
